Speaker Biography
Farhan Thawar, Product Manager for Windows Live
 |
Farhan is currently the Product Manager for Windows Live in Canada. In 1998, he graduated with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. Following entrepreneurial spirits, Farhan moved south to Austin, Texas to work with Trilogy Software, noted for its all-star teams and its extreme management philosophies. He juggled various roles there from technical pre-sales and consulting, to leading a development team at an infamous dot-com company. Recently Farhan was infatuated with solution design at Celestica Inc. as a software architect, but then moved to managing the MSN Canada platform at Microsoft. Currently he manages Windows Live products like Live.com, Live Local and Live Search at Microsoft. |

Jean-Luc David holds the role of Developer Advisor at Microsoft Canada. Prior to joining Microsoft, we was a consultant for Stormpixel Solutions, specializing in Web and Application development on the Windows platform. Jean-Luc has written many books on WROX Press including Professional Javascript 2nd Edition, Professional WinFX Beta, Professional Visual Studio 2005 Team System, Professional Team Foundation Server, among others. Jean-Luc has the unique distinction of being the first Canadian to receive the Microsoft .NET MVP Award. |
