This introductory session will demonstrate how to use Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) to build line of business applications. The session will begin with a tutorial on WPF basics. How to build a basic WPF application, basic XAML constructs, WPF controls, responding to events, etc. The session will then move into the realm of data binding and using controls to best represent line of business style applications (data entry with one to many capabilities). Developers will leave this session with a basic understanding of how to build WPF applications.

Rod Paddock, Editor for CoDe Magazine 
Rod is president and founder of Dash Point Software, Inc. DPSI is an award winning software company based in Seattle, WA. Dash Point Software specializes in application architecture, development and software training. Dash Point specializes in Visual Studio .NET, VB 6, Visual FoxPro, and SQL Server development. Rod has been a very popular speaker at a wide variety of developer conferences in North America and Europe since 1995. His most recent speaking appearance was at the DevTeach 2004 conference in June 2004. Rod is the editor for CoDe Magazine and his writing credits include articles for database publications such as CoDe Magazine, Data Based Advisor, Smart Access, Visual Basic Programmers Journal and others. He has also authored a number of books including Visual Basic 5 for Web Development, Visual Basic 6 for Web Development, and Visual FoxPro 6.0 Enterprise Development. Rod is also the V.P. of Technology for Red Matrix Technologies and the architectural visionary behind the DataClas middle-tier component and SQLAudit product lines. Rod is a Microsoft VB.NET MVP.
