speaker: Jean-Luc David
This session will present a practical overview of Indigo, Microsoft's new unified programming model in the Windows Vista (Longhorn) wave. See how it is designed, how it works and how you can leverage it.
Location: Whitby Public Library - Room 1A
|

The Windows Communication Foundation (formerly codenamed "Indigo") is Microsoft's unified programming model for building service-oriented applications with managed code. It extends the .NET Framework to enable developers to build secure, reliable, transacted Web services that integrate across platforms and interoperate with existing investments. It is part of the new WinFX development API for Windows Vista. In this session, you will learn the nuts and bolts of Indigo—how it was designed, how it works, and how you can leverage its unified, attribute-based programming model to build distributed, service-oriented systems. We will take a practical approach to service orientation and learn the value of this development paradigm through concrete examples.
